One of the fastest-growing exporters of honey to the U.S. has been India, and India has been our largest honey supplier since 2017, when it displaced Vietnam from the top spot. U.S. imports from India grew 12 percent by volume in 2019 over 2018, despite overall imported honey volume being down 6 percent year on year.

Like many other countries trying to slow the curve on incidence of COVID-19, in March India went on a complete lock-down. Last week, the government began loosening restrictions, but reports suggest people are hesitant to venture out and get back to their usual activities.
