We estimate October-November Ivorian arrivals near 755,000 MT, up nearly 8% YOY. Ghana purchases may be below 300,000 MT, down about 9% YOY. As a result, total output for the period from the two countries may be near 1.05 MMT, up around 2% YOY.

With the unrest following the presidential election seemingly done, Ivorian arrivals are likely to see its usual holiday slump in late December. Through Dec. 20, Ivory Coast bean arrivals were estimated near 996,000 MT, down about half a percent YOY. Per Reuters, arrivals in the week of Dec. 20 were 87,000 MT, down from 89,000 MT a year prior.

Arrivals for the first three months of the 2020/21 corn crop may total over 1.12 MMT.

Ivory Coast and Ghana have seen unusually favorable rains in December, which should help support production for the second half of the main crop.
