NOPA members began 2018/19 on a strong note, with soybean crush reported at 172.3 million bushels in October, up 5 percent from October 2017. Last month’s crush also surpassed the previous record monthly volume of 171.9 million bushels set last March.  

Soybean oil production was a record 2.0 billion pounds, up 6 percent from a year ago, thanks to an oil yield of 11.71 pounds per bushel. Soybean oil stocks totaled 1.5 billion pounds, down 2 percent from September and up 23 percent from October 2017.
