According to the last WASDE report, 2018/19 U.S. corn ending stocks are projected to decrease 23 percent compared to the year prior. However, this a very preliminary number, as corn yield could completely change the dynamic of this market. There is talk of corn yield potentially reaching a record 180 bushels per acre, though due to recent hot weather that number might be optimistic. Corn yield of 178 bpa, however, would reduce the drop in ending stocks to 7 percent.
