Sugar use was unchanged for 2019/20 and 2020/21 in USDA’s August WASDE. Food use deliveries for 2019/20 are seen at 12.050 million STRV, down about 0.7 percent from 2018/19 deliveries.

From October 2019 through June 2020, the first nine months of the market year, sugar deliveries for human use from reporters totaled 7.710 ST, down about 3.0 percent YOY. Of the top five categories of deliveries, only a few show growth from last year: Bakery and cereal, down 2.7 percent; wholesale grocers, jobbers, and dealers, down 0.1 percent; retail grocers and chain stores, up 9.4 percent; multiple and other uses, down 8.1 percent; confectionery, down 14.3 percent; ice cream and dairy, up 2.4 percent; beverages, down 14.0 percent; canned, bottled, and frozen, up 4.6 percent; all other deliveries, down 0.3 percent.
