Last week, net soybean export sales were over 2.1 MMT, a show of strength after three weeks that were a bit slow in light of USDA’s expectation of 61.2 MMT (2.250 billion bushels) of exports this season. Weekly exports were 2.5 MMT, putting cumulative exports at nearly 9.6 MMT, up 26 percent from 2016/17 to date. Sales to China still lagged last season, although actual shipments were up: Total commitments were down 7 percent, while cumulative exports were up 11 percent year over year.
