NOPA members reported crushing 166.4 million bushels last month, up 2 percent from November and up 4 percent from December 2016. Oil yield improved from November, to 11.55 pounds per bushel, but was still noticeably lower than last season’s yield. Soybean oil production totaled 1.9 billion pounds, up 3 percent year-over-year. Soybean oil stocks increased 16 percent from November’s volume, to 1.5 billion pounds, a steeper November-to-December gain than we’ve seen in recent seasons.
