At the start of this week, pricing is flat from the previous week but down almost a point from the four-week average for both estandar and refined.

In August, the Ministry of Economy announced that initial export quotas to the U.S. will total 657,153 MT for 2021/22. Per the September WASDE, USDA sees all Mexico exports at 1.482 MMT and exports to the U.S. at a little over 983,000 MT.

As in the U.S., confectionery sales in Mexico have flagged during the pandemic, but the confectionery and chocolate industry body sees a rebound in sales of 15 to 20 percent this winter, per Milenio.
