NOPA members crushed over 170.0 million bushels of soybeans last month. This volume was down 1 percent from a year ago, which, at 171.9 million bushels, set a record for March crush. The industry had expected a larger YOY decline, with the average of analyst expectations coming in just over 168.0 million bushels. Crush in 2018/19 appears to be on track to hit USDA’s forecast of 2.1 billion bushels, needing only to remain near 2017/18’s crush for the second half of the season.
