India cumulative sugar production strong, up 14 percent YOY
Cumulative Indian 2021/22 sugar production through April reached 34.24 MMT, up 14 percent YOY and up 23 percent from the five-year average.

On Apr. 8, ISMA updated its forecast for 2021/22 production to 35.0 MMT, based on assumed diversion of the equivalent of 3.4 MMT of feedstock and IP product to ethanol manufacturing.
Wholesale sugar pricing in April was up 3 percent from the previous month and up 5 percent YOY. In early May, pricing has been up half a percent from April and up 4 percent YOY.
