Net 2021/22 soybean export sales have been negative for four of the last five weeks, lowering total commitments to 2.188 billion bushels as of Jul. 21, compared to 2.211 billion as of Jun. 16. USDA may trim projected exports in the August WASDE.
Lower prices spurred export sales of new-crop soybeans. Outstanding sales for 2022/23 were 546 million bushels, up 5 percent from the week before. Next month, we should see even more sales activity for the next marketing year—NMY sales often double during August.
