The harvest count for Florida Valencia oranges for the week ending May 26 was just over 2.5 million boxes, down almost 20 percent from the previous week as harvest of the 2018/19 crop winds down. The cumulative total of USDA’s reported weekly box count was 37.6 million, about 90 percent of the season forecast for Valencias. Harvest tends to drop precipitously during the first two weeks of June, but we should see at least one more week of above 1.0 million boxes.
