This season’s cumulative FCOJ movement totaled 76.2 million pounds solids (ps) as of Dec. 22, compared to 70.7 million to date last season. Domestic bulk movement accounted for the gain, while domestic retail movement, at 14.9 million ps, was nearly 7 percent lower than this time a year ago.
Total FCOJ supply, at 292.5 million ps, was up 16 percent from last year, due to a rise in imports during December. As of Dec. 2, cumulative pack was still below last season’s volume, but weekly pack was beginning to show higher volumes.
Weekly inventory showed the beginning of the usual Dec-Jan bump, rising by 4.1 million ps from the week before, to 216.3 million ps.
