Average daily ethanol production fell last week to around 1.01 million barrels per day (bpd), a decrease from the previous week of 4 percent. This average is down by 2 percent from this time last year. Production since January seems to be fluctuating around 2017 levels. Use by blenders and refiners is increasing seasonally and was up 1 percent week over week and up 4 percent year over year, averaging 882,000 bpd. Ending stocks for the week of Feb. 9 fell slightly to 22.8 million barrels from 23.4 million barrels the week before.
