Perhaps the most drastic change in today’s WASDE was the sharp decrease in ending stocks from 2017/18 to 2018/19. With acreage dropping from 90.5 to 88.8 and yield seen at 174 bushels per acre, ending stocks are forecast to decrease 23 percent to 1.682 billion bushels from 2.182 billion bushels in 2017/18.
