With half of March left in the center-south sugarcane campaign, sugar production is reported at 26.38 MMT for 2018/19, down 26.5 percent from production last season. While cane crush is reported down just 3.8 percent from April through mid-March, the sugar share now stands at 35 percent for the season to date. 

In the first half of March, the center-south sugar share was just 6 percent. Sugar and ethanol output were 9,000 MT and 142 million liters.
