From April through mid-June, Brazil’s center-south crush totaled 170.8 MMT of sugarcane, down 4.1 percent YOY but up 6.6 percent from the five-year average.

With the sugar share of cane at 43.0 percent—down slightly from 35.0 percent a year ago—just 6.71 MMT of sugar has been produced, down 10.4 percent from 7.49 MMT a year ago but up 11.8 percent from the five-year average. Sugar recovery to date is 39.28 kg per MT of cane, down 6.6 percent YOY.
