After a long season of droughts, which reduced the Argentinian soybean crop from 57.8 MMT in 2017 to an estimated 38 MMT this year, farmers are now facing heavy rains slowing down harvest. As of May 3, 61.8 percent of soybeans and 32.5 percent of corn had been harvested. Average yield is 2.34 MT per hectare in the case of soybeans and 7.16 MT per hectare for corn.
